Getting a Recovery for Elevator Accidents; Many NYCHA Elevator Staff Moonlight

Today’s New York Times had an investigation report that a good number of New York City Housing Authority elevator staff have second jobs with private elevator companies.  See story here.

NYCHA has an incredible number of elevator malfunctions and flunked inspections.  See our prior post.  It appears that something is wrong at NYCHA.  Either its elevator maintenance staff is spread too thin or the staff is mismanaged.

We have had many NYCHA tenants approach us who have malfunctioning elevators in their buildings.

We hope that the pressure of The Times’s coverage will cause NYCHA to correct this deplorable situation.

If you have been involved in an elevator accident, please feel free to call me at 800-581-1434.
